      Setup TrainTool with LTI 1.3 for Canvas

      Do you need help with setting up LTI 1.3? Contact support@traintool.com

      Start with finding the [accountname] for your institution. You can find this in the URL of your TrainTool account before '.traintool.com'. (i.e.: demo.traintool.com -> [accountname] = demo). You will use the [accountname] in steps 3c, 4c, 4d and 4f. 

      Create a Developer Key

      1. Access the Admin tab and go to Developer Keys.
      2. Click on '+ Developer Key' and choose '+ LTI Key'.
      3. Fill in on the left:
        1. Key name: TrainTool
        2. Owner Email: Optional
        3. Redirect URIs: https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/launch
      4. Under Configure, fill in:
        1. Method: Manual Entry
        2. Title: TrainTool
        3. Target Link URI: https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/launch
        4. OpenID Connect Initiation UrL:  https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/initiation
        5. JWK Method: Public JWK URL
        6. Public JWK URL: https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/keyset

      5. Check the first 6 boxes under LTI Advantage Services. 
      6. Under Additional settings set Privacy Level to 'Public'.
      7. For Placements, add: 'Account Navigation', 'Link Selection' en 'Assignment Selection'. You will now be able to access settings for these options below. 
        1. Account Navigation: Leave empty
        2. Link Selection: 
          1. Target link URI: https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/launch
          2. Select Message Type: LtiDeepLinkingRequest
        3. Assignment Selection:
          1. Target link URI: https://[accountname].traintool.com/api/lti_tool/launch
          2. Select Message Type: LtiDeepLinkingRequest

      8. Hit 'Save' and turn tool 'ON' in the Developer Keys overview. 
      9. Under Details copy the Client ID. You will need this in the next steps

      Create App

      1. Under the Admin tab, navigate to Settings.
      2. Go to Apps and click View App Configurations. Click on '+ App'.
      3. Choose Configuration Type 'By Client ID' and fill in the Client ID you just copied in step 9 above.
      4. Click 'Submit' and 'Install'. 
      5. Send the Client ID and the name of your institution to support@traintool.com with subject 'LTI 1.3 configuration Canvas'. 

      You're set! We will complete the configuration and let you know when everything is good to go.
