Creating Baseline and Final Tests
A test in TrainTool is referred to as a baseline or final assessment. A test is often used to check a participant’s knowledge at the start (baseline) and to assess their level after practicing with TrainTool (final assessment).
A test segment differs from a practice segment in two key ways:
- For a role-play in a baseline or final assessment, a participant has a maximum of two attempts. For a practice role-play, they can attempt as many times as they like.
- An assessment is always evaluated—by the participant, the coach, or by Alix. The participant will then receive a score and a final report.
Do you want to set up a test segment? Click on the date next to a segment and change the segment to ‘Assessment’.
Choose:
- Whether the role-play is a baseline or final assessment (for a final assessment, a trainee can pass or fail, but not for a baseline).
- Who will evaluate:
- Self-assessment: the trainee evaluates themselves.
- Coach assessment: the trainee is evaluated by the coach or by Alix.
- Whether the participant sees an overall score. This is the average of the scores the trainee has received for the different competencies in the assessment.
- Whether the participant sees exact values. This allows the trainee to see a numerical final score.
- What the passing threshold is. This is the score a trainee must achieve to pass or fail the assessment.
