Creating Baseline and Final Tests

A test in TrainTool is referred to as a baseline or final assessment. A test is often used to check a participant’s knowledge at the start (baseline) and to assess their level after practicing with TrainTool (final assessment).

A test segment differs from a practice segment in two key ways:

• For a role-play in a baseline or final assessment, a participant has a maximum of two attempts. For a practice role-play, they can attempt as many times as they like.
• An assessment is always evaluated—by the participant, the coach, or by Alix. The participant will then receive a score and a final report.

Choose:

• Whether the role-play is a baseline or final assessment (for a final assessment, a trainee can pass or fail, but not for a baseline).
• Who will evaluate:
  • Self-assessment: the trainee evaluates themselves.
  • Coach assessment: the trainee is evaluated by the coach or by Alix.
• Whether the participant sees an overall score. This is the average of the scores the trainee has received for the different competencies in the assessment.
• Whether the participant sees exact values. This allows the trainee to see a numerical final score.
• What the passing threshold is. This is the score a trainee must achieve to pass or fail the assessment.
