Q1 - Product update
After the first couple of months of the year, it's time to take a look at our most exciting releases! (Spoiler alert: there's a lot)
Trainees
1. Redesign
The most significant (visual) change can be found in the TrainTool Trainee environment. Following the partial refresh in Q4 2025, we have extended this update across the entire platform in the first quarter of 2026. The result is a modern, user-friendly design that speaks for itself and guides Trainees effortlessly through their learning process.

Alongside the redesign, we have introduced a notification bell, ensuring Trainees stay informed about incoming feedback requests and updates. Regarding feedback: if a Trainee needs to provide or request peer feedback, the process is now much clearer within the program:

2. Audio-only RealTime Exercises
RealTime conversations are now available without video. Featuring our most realistic voices to date, we enable users to train their (telephonic) communication skills like never before.
3. Reply speed in RealTime Exercises
We closely monitor user feedback. A common observation was that RealTime avatars tended to interrupt if a user remained silent for "too long" or hesitated before responding. To address this, we have tweaked the avatars' reaction times and added a setting that allows you, the user, to manually increase or decrease the response speed
Admins
1. Alix per Roleplay
Alix coaching can now be configured individually per roleplay. This offers greater flexibility and control for Admins and coaches who may want to personally assess certain roleplays alongside Alix’s automated coaching. These settings can be managed within the TrainTool Admin environment.

2. Messaging Trainees
Admins and coaches in TrainTool can send messages to their Trainees. For example, if they have not yet started or completed their modules. To make this process as seamless as possible, we have optimized the messaging flow. As a finishing touch, we’ve added 'Improve with Alix.' This feature allows you to quickly draft a message and let Alix provide suggestions for refinements or tone adjustments.
